RIDE YOUR BIKE
You don't need a dedicated downhill bike to ride Woodward's lift-served trails.
Trail or enduro bike? You're good to go. These bikes are lighter, more maneuverable, and stable at speed—making them a great fit for Woodward's diverse trail network.
Hardtails only have front suspension, giving you more direct feedback from the trail. If that's your style, send it.
DH bikes are built for going downhill fast, with suspension designed to absorb bumps, rocks, and rough terrain at higher speeds. They’re recommended for the park, but not required.
Want to test ride? DH bikes are available to rent.

- Helmet: A properly fitted, certified helmet is required.
- Knee & Elbow Pads: Protect the spots most likely to take a hit.

- Riding Gear: Wear breathable, flexible clothing that won't get caught in your bike.

LOADING THE LIFT

First time loading your bike? No stress. Follow these simple steps:
- Approach: Pull up alongside the lift and line up your front wheel with the bike slot.
- Front Wheel: Roll it into the slot and keep it straight.
- Rear Wheel: Check that your rear wheel is in the wheel channel.
- Need Help? Ask a lift attendant.
THE RIGHT TRAIL
Follow the trail ratings: Green is easiest, then blue, then black. Start easy and focus on braking, body position, and navigating obstacles before progressing to harder trails.

Ride at your own pace. Stay within your comfort zone and progress to harder trails as your skills grow.
